Several times during the week heard not seen high level jet traffic over Coolangatta heading **south east** judging by the noise and similar to the old F111 usual flight path although I used to be able to see the F111s so these recent flights were very much higher. This is not a normal commercial route pattern as the NZ traffic usually goes east from around South Stradbroke Island. The normal southern domestic commercial traffic is via Laravale and Beaudesert areas. Nothing showing on Flightaware or similar sites either so I assume traffic for the F16 exercise mentioned by others.

I have heard exactly the same thing Peter, I would say it was them. The training area does extend down to the Coolangatta/Tweed Region.

Even "hotter" on Sunday, Richard, when the boys towed her around the corner for static display.

Nice - the F16 may be old but for my money it has the best canopy (unobstructed view) in the business!

No LJR's so far :(

QF 767 VH-OGI flew Townsville - Amberley - Brisbane this morning.
I suspect it's quite unusual to see a QF aircraft at Amberley.

Looks likes it's been doing charter work for the ADF during exercise pitch black.

I know this is not exactly a noteworthy movement but I thought I would post it on here then on a new thread. On Flightaware F-18, C-17 and C-130's are appearing.

Here's an F-18 flying over South East Queensland this afternoon.

Yeah, I noticed yesterday that some military flights started showing across all airports. Not sure why but it's great if it continues.
