Distance in KM

Postby TERRY MAGEE » Sat May 20, 2006 8:26 am

Didn't you know airlines always work in miles. When I started flying that's all we Poms knew anyway.
At a conversion rate of 1.6093 km = 1 mile it's 1,185,788 km

Alliance (worked)
Air Niugini (worked)
Norfolk Jet (worked)
Ozjet (worked)

Impulse, Virgin Blue, Australian Airlines, original Australian Airlines, Eastern, Sunstate, Southern, National Jet, Skippers, Horizon, Macair, Kendell, Hazelton, Rex, Air North, Flight West, East West, Ansett, Skywest, Qantas, Jetstar.

United, American, TWA, Delta, US airways, Air canada, Aeroflot, Air France, Lufthansa, Alitalia, Air New Zealand, Qantas NZ/AWAS, British Airways, Singapore Airlines, British Midland, Aer Lingus, Airwork NZ, Continental, Northwest, Freedom Air, KLM, Pan American (dont really remeber it, was young), Air Inter, Thai, Czech CSA, iberia, some turboprop operator in UK (was a big turboprop, BAe something)..

theres more but these are the ones i can recall off the top of my head (52 i can remember right now).

Memorable trips:
LAX-HNL via maui on Delta L1011 (first time i threw up on an aircraft - combo of creamy chicken meal and bad bad turbulence).
Memphis-Charlotte 732, turbulence and no pushback, just moved aerobridge far away and swung it round sharp.
QF SIN-SYD seat 1a in business class.
Alliance OOL-BNE at 3000ft dodging thunderstorms at night in the jump seat on my 21st birthday after a CBR-TSV-HIR-OOL-BNE trip.
Alliance CNS-TSV position flight at 1000ft coastal.
Air Niugini POM-CNS trips were always heaps fun.
Virgin Blue 737-700 (first virgin blue flight, $1 airfare)

Memorable aircraft:
747sp, 727, 732, 742, F28, F27, A319 (such a cute thing). Theres others, but these are to mind right now.
