Main reason is for the love of flight. When im not flying myself, there is still so many things you can do to keep intrested in it.....and beside's nothing beats the smell of AVTUR at a airport.

Yeah realy love the smell of avgas gives one a bit of high used to get very close to the stuff when I first started spotting at Manchester many years ago because you were up top and hot air is supposed to rise got been hooked on it ever since

Yep agree with all the above. Love to fly, in light as well as jet aircraft, and you just can't beat the smell of avgas in the morning :D

I just admire aircraft overall, rather than doing it for one of those reasons. Especially jets. :P

Watching a fully loaded 747-400 getting off the ground... thats what amazes me about aviation. 300-400ton of mass.
