Boeing because of its variety. The Airbus cockpit series seems far to common. i know it's like this because of crew comminality but variety is the spice of life!

If you don't like this topic post elsewere.

Well, i'll swallow my pride.
Airbus, reason: when flying manually, you generally have one hand on the flight stick (whatever it may be) and one hand on the throttle, i believe a sidestick stops the tendency to use two hands for aircraft manouevring. Plus the fold out table is a real bonus! Also, i love the rear bogies of the A330/340! Hmm, Airbus flightdecks with LCD's just look awesome! (gee, i can't believe i just said that.....)

Attn: Chittock and Brenden, you did not just read that!

Just to throw a spanner in the works. Wouldn't the crew commenality help to give the pilot a variety of a/c he/she/it (gotta to cover all bases) can fly, and interchange. An example is Edelwiess Airlines, whose crew interchange between A320's and 332's. Or Cathay 333/343/346! Both are a reasonable variety to the regular, say Boeing pilot, almost stuck on a single type. Correct me if i'm wrong, i've swallowed my pride once, a second time can't hurt.

It makes life a bit easier for airlines who may have a shortage of pilots to fly long-haul or short-haul aircraft. Example, with Delta a lot of their senior pilots are leaving and so they need to frantically re-train pilots to fly their long haul aircraft like the 772 and 763. Cockpit commonality in this case would work quite well for them. Plus it saves cash on price. Not that it's a be all end all advantage.

That said, both manufacturers make planes I like along with planes which I think are, well, crap.

Lachlan, I don't think it's a good idea to be racist in a public forum.

what the hell do the french have to do with it?? considering Airbus is made up of several EU nations! by the way, my father was French, which makes me part French too! so the next time you make another informed comment you might want to think a little!
