Again got to airport with plenty of time to spare as the flight doesn't leave until 7:10 PM, but got to airport about 4:30 pm to return hire car etc.

Self check in kiosks worked this time. Got a window seat in seat 28A.

While I got through security without anything going beep, but poor dad didn't, he had to take his shoes off and put them through the X-ray machine.

Spent some time photographing the action from the terminal while we waited.

This is the first aircraft delivered to Qantas with the Boeing Sky Interior. At least I got to see the new interior despite missing out on the 737-400.

A big queue for boarding and the aircraft would be about 95% full but 28C was empty, so once the door was closed and no one else boarded, dad moved over.

Unfortunately not my seat. Had to keep going down the back.

Take off roll seemed quite long for a 737.

However, babies sat around us started to scream and kept going the entire flight.

Meal served was chicken salad with roast vegetables. It wasn't the best airline food.

Was a bit of light turbulence in places, but generally smooth.

As usual as soon as the seatbelt sign is turned off, everyone gets up. This time there was a delay in attaching the aerobridge, so for those who thought they could be the first off the plane, they had to wait about 15 minutes.

So we let the crowd go.

By the time we got the bag off the carousel it was one of the last.

No problems with flying with Qantas on the short domestic flight. Have no problem paying a little more to fly Qantas, instead of the low cost airlines, Jetstar, Tiger etc.
