This with XAX daily is going to be a disaster if either of the JQ heavies get down at a similar time

D7 is not operating a daily service, however it is operating a seven weekly service.

Wednesdays and Sundays see two flights, one in the morning, one at night.

Thursdays and Mondays still see no flights. Looks like bay 31 will come in handy this summer in any case, can rotate one of the JQ 332s out to free up a bay for D7/TZ to get turned around if push comes to shove.

Scoot will operate two services each Thursday from 5th Dec - 9th Jan. The usual TZ6 at 0805 and then TZ16 arriving 1040 departing 1200.

No worries, I wasn't either until I had a quick look at the schedules
Hopefully one of those flights is delayed by a couple of hours or so letting us catch the arrival in afternoon light.

Evening all,

Looking at the Scoot Schedules on their website tonight it shows that from 29/7/14 they will operate 3 direct SIN-OOL-SIN, then twice a week SIN-SYD-OOL-SIN services. http://www.flyscoot.com/index.php/en/schedules

TZ006 Dep SIN 2225 Arr OOL 0750+1
TZ005 Dep OOL 0900 Arr SIN 1520
(Operates Monday. Saturday and Sunday)

TZ003 Dep SIN 0145 Arr SYD 1130 Dep SYD 1240 Arr OOL 1355
TZ003 Dep OOL 1515 Arr SIN 2125
(Operates Tuesday and Thursday)

The schedules and Booking engine show TZ 3 as the flight number for both arrival and departure. I suspect there is a mistake there and it is meant to be TZ4 on the inbound.

Hi all,

In Amadeus timetable listing, Scoot has outlined planned Boeing 787-9 operations for Summer 2015 season. Planned Boeing 787-9 service as follow

eff 28APR15 Singapore – Gold Coast 5 weekly

Note although Boeing 787-9 schedule is listed from late-March 2015, it is possible that these launch date may move forward to as early as December 2014.

The 787-9 is the larger long range 787 version suitable for QF daily Sydney Dallas non stop service [source; AA 11/2014 P.32]. I wonder why Scoot wants that very long range plane on a much shorter range Australia Singapore trip when Scoot now use the B777-200ER without really needing the ER capability? Very curious?

The 772 will be phased out as Scoot receive additional 787s. In the meantime the fuel efficiency of the Dreamliner makes it an attractive replacement. There are both economical and operational reasons why Scoot might have picked OOL as the first route.

I had already realised all that you wrote but I was trying to brainstorm the specific economical and operational reasons.

I would be inclined to think that airport movement charges might be lower using the 787 compared with the 777, being a smaller aircraft. Furthermore the runway length at OOL is something which all widebodies have to take into consideration so the 787 could be a better fit in that respect.

OOL-SIN would also be quite price sensitive which gives the 787 an edge on the economics.

As for why they picked the 789 and not the 788, I presume it's because they want to carry the extra passengers.
