A busy few days in Darwin...

Tonight saw the arrival of a GV from Micronesia, US Navy 166375.

We also have had a bit of Singapore AF hardware come through, mainly being 2 F-16's on their way to Avalon. The KC-135 and herc in support look to be staying in Darwin for the meantime anyway.

AtlasAir 747 was in this morning, possibly a Qantas flight, and sitting at the military apron is another Herc which could be US Navy or Marines.

And today saw the arrival of 02-0202 a C-40C (737-BBJ) from Dili.

I thought it might have been the aircraft that was bring home Sapper Jamie Ronald Larcombe, but noticed on the Defence website he is due to arrive at RAAF Base Edinburgh at 4:30pm today, so it wouldn't be for that.

Chances are RAAF - they often do runs from Townsville to Diego Garcia via Darwin.

83-0078 KC-10 USAF is about to depart AVV for Darwin. This a/c arrived from BNE at 16.45pm bringing in spares for the 'broken' KC-10.

Hardware everywhere up here!

But most importantly both F-22s arrived here mid arvo.

Other arrivals included 2x RSAF Hercs, A USAF KC-10.

There is also many KC-135's sitting around up here too, 2 of them I believe were the ones that were on the ground at Melbourne.

Yes, went home the next morning around 9am. The KC-10 and a KC-135 swiftly followed them out.

A US herc arrived this evening too callsign "convoy" something...!

I was out flying so didnt get shots, nor could anyone get near them. Eugene got some shots but the wx as usual was average for their arrival.

I didn't really think that they would stop here in Darwin on their way home.

Not overly exciting but today's Qantas service from Brisbane was performed by VH-QPD.

There is no QPO so I doubt that would have been it!
