Nice work Dave,

quite a historic deployment this - first US NAVY Super Hornets to deploy to Townsville and believe only the third time US NAVY Super Hornets have been deployed to our shores - not counting the airshow visitors, "from boat ops" or diverts...

Thanks Carsten.

I actually went out to the airport to capture FNA only to find it had already arrived earlier than first planned thanks to the direct flight. Here is photo I took this morning of FNA on the ground at TSV.

Dave.

Townsville was treated to the awesome arrivals of Hornets this morning. 20 in total comprising both the Classic and Supers. The Hornets are transiting through TSV as they return from the Exercise Aces North in the Northern Territory. All 20 Hornets depart at 0530 tomorrow morning to Williamtown. Some photos I took today of the arrivals

Great shots Dave - that first one has the asymmetric engine nozzles which usually indicates he has shut one engine down, six hornets did a Low Jet Route - Cairns via Dunk Island to Townsville on the day.
