Great shots again, Richard.

Who needs to formate with a camera ship for some air-to-air when a cliff top is a handy substitute eh ?

Bit hard to get the serials but had morning tea with the lighthouse keeper interrupted this morning.

Which was preceded by a four pack Hornet flight ( the Mauve Cobras ? )

The Pigs Tales countdown clock is showing 20 days 20 hours and 20 minutes until the grunt stops.

Thanks for the comments.

Richard - needed a cure for the withdrawal symptoms after being AWOL from the Bald Hill HARS Hargrave highlight this year. Might need to bribe Santa for that 600mm though.

Young Beauregard - what’s with the ‘Mr’ ? I thought you were referring to my grandfather ! Cape Byron Lighthouse Lookout, Byron Bay provided the Pacific azure background. Good spotting location - if you don’t mind a two hour drive and hordes of semi-clad, nubile Nordic backpackers. Also be prepared for repeated requests to take holiday snapshots for Japanese tourists.

Adam - just the basic kit of Canon 40D, 100-400mm L with UV filter in geriatric and unsteady hands. Even more basic processing in iPhoto to straighten, crop, lighten shadow and sharpen. I prepare my own reference map - print out the Area 40 LJR NOTAM and then plot the waypoints on Google Earth using the ruler tool which gives you bearing and distance ( change to miles ). Use the placemark flag for each location and then join with the line tool. Delete flags and print.
Send me a PM if I can help further.

Mick great work on discovering a "jewel" of a posi the "Byron Bay Low Fly", the geography there appears to suite "turns" towards the photographer as there are no headlands or terrain on either side of the point and your results with a 400 are sensational, many a photog should follow in your footsteps...brilliant work mate, sure beats airshows any day of the week.

The "Bugs" should be flying a Coastal LJR South today as per the second part of the previous Notam.

And a Pig should be doing Tasi / Vic / Southern NSW today as per following NOTAM from ASA:

Seeing it has the retirement tailart, it could either be A8-113/126/135 (unless they've painted up more)

Going by the discoloured right stab tip which it also sported at Willy, i would say its 126

Add 129 to the wearers of the 'Bird of Paradise' retirement tail art, Mike - noted in the maintenance hangar during the media day yesterday.

Well looki here, no shortage of fun for us on the East Coast on Aust Day chaps, with bugs galore - although expected to be very hot today but then whats a little heat eh (they are in fine form as well - had the pleasure of visiting the "bugs nest" recently with no less than 22 different bugs flying between 1000 & 1500 by the time I left.
