I was in Newcastle yesterday afternoon, and the hornet's low-level display was awesome. It really got the punters excited.

A Hornet or Super Hornet LJR for our West Australian readers for next Tuesday - might be a detachment at Pearce, it will be interesting to see if we deploy a squadron "somewhere" overseas to free up the yanks or brits with this No Fly Zone business over Libya

Horny Rhinos 5 - Old Fokkers 1, today Richard !

Only a single Super Hornet joined the ranks of Byron Busters - his other four mates returned to the coast further north. Had reports that a 4 ship formation interrupted the putting at Redland Bay Golf Course !

Note to self : return camera/lens settings to fast jet modes after shooting full moon ! ( Bugger )

Although the Purga Creek Snakepit has been good value this week.

Still, very well caught Mick - love the angle of the Rhino below the horizon. Each sighting of these "Wonder Machines" on a LJR off our beautiful coast line is an experience in itself - wish I could have seen it!

Mate I reckon you will be coming up with more crackers from this location... the other pics are very nice as well!

Cheers and apologies for the "misleading quintet advertisement" we shall have to have a word with the planners

A nice F-18 LJR Coastal for today 1030 to 1300 local

Starting off at North tip of Fraser Is southbound to Sunshine Coast past Caloundra to Bribie Is, Moreton Is, Point Look out,
then Surfers on to Gold Coast - always a bit hit and miss as to how close to shore they fly!

Wish I was in sunny Queensland for the wild life - look at the this lucky bloke for example taken off Caloundra yesterday pic from: http://maroochy-journal.whereilive.com. ... caloundra/

Glad you saw something at least, classics and supers were ripping up and down all week between Willy and Amb with the Omega 707 tanker, with a few coastal low jet routes as well, some of the participants can be seen here (not my pics):

Well Folks, we don’t have "Riverfire" in Sydney but we did have a “Chuck Norris Approved” LJR to commemorate the “Battle For Australia” for a balmy Sydney today , jet came in from the East lining up over Martin Place did a loop out past Darling Harbour and came in for a near vertical climb heading East over Martin Place before executing not one, but two victory (barrel) rolls, before leveling off high over the Eastern Suburbs.
