Yep sorry Brandon - can confirm that departure is scheduled for tomorrow early... looks like you'll miss it - as I did last weekend... Darn freighters and their changes of schedule!!

Also, a RAAF C-130J Herc arrived in ROK today and about 2 dozen troops boarded for Williamson in Shoalwater Bay.

And, a couple of coaches have been noted at ROK with 'Qantas' titles, so perhaps Gladstone Airport is closed due to weather?? I did hear ATC earlier today advise a flight to Mackay that the airport there may be experiencing flooding??

Listening to the scanner today it sounded like ROK ATC was having one hell of a day, also last night was the same.

Evening all,

I was told by a local (and since confirmed by 'balus') that Virgin Blue's E190 VH-ZPL had the honour of being the first commercial to fly into Rocky after it re-opened this morning. I am told operations are restricted to the Regional Jets at this stage.

The airport will operate during daylight hours tomorrow as well, with normal ops hopefully resuming Wednesday.

Remember Tiger has cancelled all flights to Rocky until March 29 (ish).

Cheers

Couple of recent movements at Rockhampton...

Rocky tower redevelopment is taking shape with the glass top being put in place last week.

Tiger Airways A320 VH-VNO operated that carriers first service back into Rocky on 29/3 after suspending all flights to Rocky during the floods.

Alliance Airlines F-100 VH-XWT has been operating for QantasLink on a daily basis from Brisbane.

Lastly, I am told that a USMC KC-130J with serial 167923 (tail code QD-923) of the VMGR-152 Unit arrived into Rocky Tuesday night (5/4) and was still there this morning (Wednesday).

Variety of photos and reports on the CQ Plane Spotting Blog - http://cqplanespotting.blogspot.com/

Evening all,

Spotted on the ground at Rocky on Saturday morning was Skytrans Dash-8-100 VH-QQA which was operating an Air Cruising Australia Charter. The aircraft carried "Bill Peach Journeys" titles on the fin. It departed Saturday afternoon to the Sunshine Coast at "Cruiser 450". This aircraft previously operated in WA by Maroomba Airlines.

Then a bit later in the afternoon, a pair of what was believed to be RNZAF Beech King Airs - callsigns KIWI 879 and KIWI 905 - passed through Rocky apparently en route to Cairns.

Sorry no other details or pictures...
