Virgin ATRs operate into Rocky each weekend - 3 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday as posted above - there is also a service to Rocky from Brisbane each weekday about lunchtime.

Other notable movements this week included QantasLink B717 VH-NXN which was operating training flights ahead of services starting March 15 (like in Rockhampton).

Also on 25/2 Clive Palmer's Citation VP-CFP was noted.

Local news reports a RAAF Airbus MRTT landed at Rocky for the first time ever today - as opposed to touch and goes and missed approaches - everyone missed so don't have a serial unfortunately.

Also the JetGo E135 is still sitting in front of the Rocky control tower - I have a photo on the Blog - local spotters reckon the word is that it staying at least for this week - perhaps parking is Rocky is cheaper than in Brisbane??!!

Evening all

On Friday 13 April, Our Airline B737 VH-INU operated Darwin-Rockhampton-Brisbane.

Over the weekend Alliance F-70 VH-QQY made it's first visit operating a charter from Cairns. Also, BK-117 ZK-HBH transitted on Sunday.

Today (Tuesday) Air New Zealand B747-400 ZK-SUH operated DRW-ROK-DRW-ROK. I have a lot of photos received from locals of its midday visit. I hope to have a few more of tonights arrival later.

2 Army Chinooks passed thru on Thursday 31/5 - A15-106 and A15-202 I believe were the serials.

Monday and Tuesday at Rocky there has been US Navy C-40A Clipper 165835 which has been operating DRW-ROK-DRW at "Convoy 7782".

There has also been RAAF BAe Hawk sorties from Rocky Airport, plus some other ADF visitors - chopppers and large transports.

There are currently three ADF Exercises on the Shoalwater Bay Training Area so assume these are related to that.

Some photos are on the CQ Plane Spotting Blog!

Recently got to spend a few days in Rockhampton. There were a few interesting movements in association with the ADF exercises currently underway in the SWBTA.

Four RAAF BAe Hawks A27-02, -14, -20, -28 have been based at ROK flying sorties. RAAF Sikorsky S-76 VH-HRP is supporting the Hawks.

There are also Army helicopter flights to the nearby Army facilities - Kiowas and MRH90s have been noted.

Also...
2/7 United States Navy Boeing B737-7AFC / C-40A Clipper - serial number 165835 - returned to Rockhampton Airport as “Convoy 7342". It departed to Cairns on 3/7.
4/7 RAAF C-130 A97-448 and King Air A32-426 visited
5/7 RAAF B737 Wedgetail A30-004 did a missed approach.

There are photos and info about 3 pages into the CQ Plane Spotting blog.

Yes Dom - routed BNE-ROK-HVB-ROK-BNE - perhaps visiting Hervey Bay is a sign of things to come??

Also today seven PC-9s - the RAAF Roulettes - performed over the city and landed at the Airport for fuel. Machines are believed to be A23-012, -046, -059, -061, -064, -066, and -067. They headed to the Whitsunday Airport for shows over Hamilton Island this week.

Some photos are now on the CQ Plane Spotting Blog!
