QantasLink 717-200 VH-YQU is scheduled to operate the SYD-HBA-SYD QF1557/1556 service today. This will be its 1st visit to HBA.

Australian Air Surveys Piper Navajo PA-31 VH-XGW due in from CBR at 8.45pm tonight and then due to depart for Bankstown at 9.10am tomorrow morning.

Learjet 35 VH-OVB arrived at 10.17am and departed at 2.54pm to/from Essendon.

Cessna C525 Citation CJ1 VH-KXL arrived from Armidale at 2.36pm and departed for SYD at 3.06pm.

Cessna Citation Sovereign C680 VH-EXQ scheduled in from MEL tomorrow at 10.40am.

RAAF BBJ A36-001 did a missed approach just before 11am as EVY6.

Hawker 850XP VH-BMW just arrived from Essendon.

Also, Qantas Link Dash 8-400 VH-LQM operated a special CBR-HBA flight last night as QF2713, arriving at 10.04pm, after the normal MEL-HBA QF2155 flight was cancelled.

Yes it is good news. Hopefully it will bring in some new flights, however probably mainly charters into Asia. It would also be good to pick up some more Antarctic traffic. It will be interesting to see how they do the runway extension as there is not a lot of room to play with. Maybe a 250m extension at each end and then move one of both of the roads at the end of each runway. It will be interesting to see how it all pans out.

A couple of RAAF C-130J Hercules just flew over my house very low and in very close formation. Just noticed on the RAAF website that they are conducting training in Tasmania from 16-18 May. They will be operating from Hobart, and flying to airfields at Launceston, George Town, Bridport, Icena, Valley Field, Tunbridge, Strahan, Queenstown and Smithton.
