Ethiopian 787-8 fire at LHR

Postby Nicholas S » Sat Jul 13, 2013 3:58 pm

Another 787 issue.. what's new?

An Ethiopian Airlines 787-8 caught fire at London Heathrow as it was on the ground. Heathrow had to close a runway or two apparently. Not only that, but a Thompson 787 also had technical issues that day and was forced to land back at Manchester. The fire appears to be toward the tail of the plane. Rego was ET-AOP.

The ET aircraft was an unrelated issue to the batteries. The Thompson aircraft was due to the LAV system failing. Non battery issues.
