1930 aerial images

The following 1930 aerial image shows the data recording method of 1930 aerial images including the time and altitude. Maybe an RAAF job in 1930? The image shows Currumbin Creek on the Gold Coast and the 30 August 1930 date on the image would suggest Eagle Farm as a base as it predates the early 1931 move to Archerfield and Amberley was not built. https://gisservices.information.qld.gov ... rId=819547

The image is from the QLD Dept Natural Resources and Mines (Land QLD on Facebook) who have released free downloadable aerial images so checking historical aspects of airports is possible. Depending on area, they date from 1930s but mostly from 1950s to recent. The help button with the (?) on their webpage is good so just work your way through there as it offers a couple of options such as locating via the map or locating by typing a location in the search box. Some are clearer than others of course. https://qimagery.information.qld.gov.au/

As a general sample, parts of Cairns airport 1977 https://gisservices.information.qld.gov ... rId=310180
