Hi Jack,

I've had a go replicating the Photoshop settings you mentioned on this photo, using Canon's DPP software (as I don't have anything else at this stage) but didn't get to use the unsharp mask. What do you think ?

I like the Skywst F-50 shot, obviously from the new viewing area.

Did anyone have a suggestion as to the best way to calibrate your monitor before adjusting photos ? Cheers.

Thanks for replying Ian, sorry for my late reply :)

Sure is from the new viewing area :)

I think your photo is looking good, I can't really point out any obvious flaws.
However maybe just fine tune that shadows and highlights section just a tad more.
From what I could see on my iPad the sharpness is looking pretty decent anyway, without it.

I have actually never calabiratted my screen, so I wouldn't know. Try searching on the a.net forums, they sure know their stuff :)

Cheers Jack.

LUKEJOHNSON wrote:It really is a great product especially for large batches of photos which are similar in nature (I.e a day at the airport) because of the settings you can preset and apply to the whole batch. I would still recommend editing in Photoshop when you have only a few good photos to edit as I believe it is still better for getting down to the nitty gritty of photo editing but for large batches (I.e airshows etc.) I would highly recommend lightroom.

Please excuse my ignorance/stupidity, but in Lightroom, how can you apply presets i.e. say I wanted to increase the brightness by 5% on each photo in the set?

Hi Robbie, I know this link relates to LR3, but settings and menus are the same for LR4 (if that is what you are using)..

First couple of tips should answer your question.

Cheers
