Aviation Photography photo websites

Postby Beau Chenery » Sun Nov 04, 2012 7:33 pm

Guys,

Just trying to get a bit of an understanding of what peoples thoughts are on the two big players in the aircraft photo space and if they would consider moving to another website?

Poll has multiple options so please choose all applicable

Please vote even if you don't upload to Jetphotos or Airliners.

Cheers
Beau

Whilst I haven't uploaded for a while I use Jetphotos. My only complaints are long waiting times for screening and annoying pop-up ads.
Aircraft flown in:
BN Islander, C206, Auster Tugmaster, Metro 23, SAAB 340, A319, A320, A330-200/300, A380, B717, B737-400/700/800/900, B747-300/400, B767-200/300.

Adam, Screening is being addressed now. Also if you pay for the elite membership the advertisements are removed.

I'd move from JP to somewhere that offered a bit more consistency in the screening process...

Thanks Dave for the feedback.

What about away from a screening process all together and let the user vote up or down the photos?

I see plenty of peoples photos in emails not on JP or Airliners due to inconsistent screening and some screeners being too pedantic.

So Ray a site that has no screening process would be appealing to you?

Have to have some sort of screening process.
Can't have pole's in the middle of the subject, something thats backlit so bad you can't see it, dust in shots etc etc.

A site that would cut out the mates for mates crap, stop giving out stupid reasons for rejecting uploaded shots some of those rejections reasons are like trying to find if UFO's exists or not!
Give a fair chance for everyone, regardless what camera and or what photoshop software used!

JP and Airliners to many of same shots and arty-farty shots on these sites. ABPIC is better no arty-farty shots allowed and they limit the amount of photos of each aircraft.
