Indoor Terminal photos, Bad Motiv
http://www.airliners.net/addphotos/rejections/big/20061028_numloxx_YPPH_QF_Terminal_IMG_8907.jpg
and
http://www.airliners.net/addphotos/rejections/big/20061028_numloxx_YPPH_QF_Terminal_outside_IMG_8920.jpg

were both rejected for Bad Motiv. I've checked out many other indoor terminal photos around Australia (Not many of them) and I cant really tell why both of mine were rejected. I'm planning another few from inside Terminal 1 in the next few weeks, but whats the point if it's all bad motiv.

Comments and suggestions are appreciated.

For the first one, I daresay they aren't interested in any internal shots unless it is of the check-in area or the main concourse.

As for the second, you would more than likely need to get a shot of the terminal without the cars and the fence in the shot. Bloody hard I know but that's anet for you.

Cheers,

Now all we need is a proper airport terminal that's as fancy as Changi or Frankfurt.

both are fair rejections...first one, what's it showing? a cityflyer sign or a baggage carousel, not really focused on anything in particular.

2nd one...just looks like i'm viewing a road with a rail and a taxi rank. find something more interesting to focus on, baggage carousel's & road's aren't exactly what i'd call interesting.

as much as we see the rule as stupid we've got to live by it if we upload...to bad photography isn't about rules.

Hi Ashok,

I'm guessing it was because it looks as though the picture was cropped into a 'nice square shape' but the a/c needs some 'air' in front of it so it looks like it has somewhere to go. In other words, good as a sticker but not as a photo of an airborne a/c

cut out the right wingtip slightly and is soft and tried to correct this and is subsequently oversharpened, if your pictures are that soft that you have to kick that much into it, not even worth trying to sharpen in editing. One of those you just have to let go and try again

I got an email saying it was becuase the A/C looks like it was copy and pasted onto the background. I didn't copy and paste the background I blurred it to get rid of some of the noise. Anyway I won't be doing that again  .

Thanks for your help, Ashok :D

I seem to be getting a lot of Dark/underexposed rejects from Jetphotos. Whilst the overcast weather in the problem photos doesn't help, I’m sure the fact that I edit on an LCD screen has something to do with it, i.e. making the photos appear brighter than they really are.
Any suggestions on how to get an accurate level of brightness displayed? On my screen they look fine, any brighter and the clouds would become glary. Are they too dark to begin with, because the more I increase the brightness, the more I have to increase the contrast and saturation?

Here are the pics:

and one that also had 'compression artefacts'. Please point them out as I'm not sure what or where they are.

Many thanks
