What sort of GPU does the laptop have? If it is nVidia, then you'll have an easy time setting it up ... if it's an AMD Radeon ... it'll be a little more difficult.

nVidia's 3D Vision relies on the following ... you have the latest drivers, the laptop screen is 120Hz capable, the laptop has a built-in 3D Vision transmitter and includes the stereoscopic 3d glasses; if the transmitter/glasses are not included, you will need to buy the nVidia 3D Vision Kit (transmitter and glasses) which retail for around $199 on eBay.

3d wise ... it works very well for aircraft with proper virtual cockpits, and the depth perception helps when taxiing, taking off and landing.
Previous Rides - Ansett BAe146; Virgin Blue 734s (yeah the early lease ones), 737s, 738s; Qantas 762, 763, 744; QantasLink D8-Q400.
