There have yet more interesting RAAF/ARMY movements at Rockampton in the last couple of days...

C-17A A41-206 has popped back into Rocky Wednesday and Thursday (today), and like Tuesday's visit unloaded 2 Eurocopter Tiger Helicopters.

So currently there are 6 Tigers on the ground - serials of five of them I have are: A38-006, -008, -012, -013, -018.

A bit of research reveals that there are a 'series of exercises' about to happen in Central Qld and North Qld in the lead up to Talisman Sabre 2011.

Some pictures - with thanks to the 'locals' are on the Blog: http://tinyurl.com/3rpqf4q

Evening all,

Just posted some more pics on the Blog from Rocky - there are now 8 Army Eurocopter (ARH) Tiger Helicopters on the ground - and I am told that some Army Blackhawks have also showed up.

The other Tiger serials noted were A38-007, -015, -020. Also the sole Blackhawk I've seen was A25-205.

The helicopters are flying sorties day and night I believe.

Just doing a bit housekeeping - there have been a wide range of Australian Army and Air Force movements through Rocky recently - and currently - there are four BAe Hawks staging through Rocky for this whole week (apparently!).

Anyway, Boeing C-17A A41-206 popped in 5-6 times at the start of June delivering eight Eurocopter Tiger (ARH) Helicopters - the serials of the Tigers were A38-006, -007, -008, -012, -013, -015, -018, -020.

On Monday 13/6, six Sikorsky S-70A Blackhawk helicopters arrived at Rocky - the serials of the blackhawks were A25-106, -112, -202, -205, -211, -224.

All these helicopters departed Rocky on Tuesday 14/6 for points North.

On Friday 17/6 United States Navy (USN) Lockheed C-130T Hercules with registration/serial number 165348 (tail code JW5348) arrived at Rocky Airport and overnighted.

On Saturday 18/6 four RAAF BAe Hawk 127 aircraft arrived at Rocky and then departed later in the day. I am told that these could be back this week and be based at the airport to fly sorties during the week. The serials of the Hawks were A27-14, -22, -29, -31.

If you are interested, there are plenty of photos on my CQ Plane Spotting Blog - courtesy of Ben O in Rocky! (http://cqplanespotting.blogspot.com/)

Enjoy! Cheers!

I've been advised that this afternoon (Thur 23/6) at Rocky Airport there were 7 Australian Army Kiowas on the ground. Unsure of serials, but I might have some pics tomorrow.

My spy also told me that there was a blackhawk and an unidentified C-130 Hercules departing when he popped into the airport.

Yet another update - there are now Kiowa, Blackhawk, and Tiger helicopters ALL on the ground at Rocky today.

Also the 4 RAAF BAe Hawks are there.

There is also a big day planned for this Sunday with (I am told) a RAAF C-17 and C-130 (or more?), plus an Air New Zealand B747 charter from Adelaide in the evening bringing in troops.

Rocky is the place to be! Ha ha!

YET another update! Today was pretty quiet at Rockhampton with 6 Kiowa, 6 Eurocopter Tiger, and 7 Blackhawks all noted parked around the Airport. Lockheed C-130H A97-009 arrived and departed as "Trojan 52".

Have just heard some of the Kiowas flying - I think one had to put down away from the Airport - see what happens in the morning.

We expect a C-17 and 2xC130s Sunday, plus the Air NZ B744 in the evening. More transports into Monday as well... and TS hasn't even started!

Some photos from the last couple of days on the Blog: http://cqplanespotting.blogspot.com/

The Roulettes will be putting on a display over Rockhampton on Thursday 18 August 2011 at 3pm.

I believe they will overnight at Rockhampton Airport before moving onto Bundaberg.
