Cairns A380 ready?

Postby Luke A » Sun Jul 10, 2011 9:57 am

Would it be possible for an A380 to visit cairns presently? As most airports have been required to make runway design changes I was wondering if such plans are in the pipeline. Understandably not in the near future I imagine due to the low possibility of an operator wanting to fly an A380 into Cairns at this point, but someone will want to one day.
Aircraft flown on:
B717
B727-200LR
B737-300/400/700/800
B747-400
B767-200/300
B777-300
A320-200
F28-4000
F50
DASH-8

They can take a C-5 no problem. I think they would have future proofed it when they did up the international terminal.

Yes, bay #1 International terminal listed for A380. See the following URL for the AN124 and B747 bays as well http://www.airservicesaustralia.com/pub ... 03-125.pdf

Added material; the domestic terminal limit is up to B747-400 birds as well. See http://www.airservicesaustralia.com/pub ... 02-125.pdf
